Batesons is a well-established and progressive firm of Accountants based in Macclesfield.Our services include accounting, tax, financial planning, payroll and business consultancy. Founded in 1979 by Jeff Bradshaw, we are based in Macclesfield, Cheshire. We have over 30 years of experience, with clients spread mainly over the North West of England. We have gained a unique understanding of the needs of small to medium sized businesses within a wide range of sectors.

TAX INVESTIGATIONS

No client, nor its Accountant, are exempt from some measure of a tax enquiry which can arise from a variety of reasons. In some cases there is information of which the client is aware but has not conveyed it to his Accountant, or there are simple errors on Returns which are picked up by computer flagging.

When enquiries arise, we always believe in immediately getting in touch with the Tax Inspector concerned, co-operating fully to save time and money on your behalf. We have found that through full co-operation and regular discussions with HMRC we usually get the best results, and invariably end up with a better deal on behalf of the client than by using a more standoff approach.

Sometimes this helps in negotiating penalties based on failure to declare for example capital gains or errors on the Tax Return which has led to an under-assessment.
